Bullet Tools earns state award via the NIC ISBDC
3/30/2009
Bullet Tools, a Hayden-based company that
develops and markets tools for the construction industry, has been
selected as the recipient of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s
2009 Northwest Small Business Administration Exporter of the Year Award.
The company owned by Dalen, Mary and Brian Gunn and Ben Toews was
established in the late-1990s by Dalen who had worked in the flooring
installation industry for more than 20 years and saw a need for more
efficient tools in the flooring industry. By 2002 the owners of Bullet
Tools had incorporated and the company later sought the assistance of
the Idaho Small Business Development Center at North Idaho College,
which nominated the company for this award.
“They are such a success story…” said ISBDC Regional Director Bill
Jhung.
The Northwest Small Business Administration Exporter of the Year
Award is presented to one company in the Northwest region, which
includes Idaho, Washington, Oregon and Alaska, that excelled in export
sales, gross margin and employment growth.
Bullet Tools first received the Small Business Administration’s state
award for Idaho and have since qualified to compete for the National
Small Business Administration Exporter of the Year Award.
“The Small Business Administration is thrilled to name Dalen Gunn the
Idaho Small Business Exporter of the Year,” said Norm Proctor, Boise
SBA district director. “It is amazing that his company, formed only a
few years ago, has been able to grow so fast domestically, let alone
internationally. This is truly a ‘made in America’ success story.”
