What are the benefits of Hardwood Flooring over Laminate Flooring? I'm putting in about 500 sqft of laminate flooring in my basement, but I love real hardwood floors. Are there any good advantages to having hardwood floors over laminate? Laminate is definitely cheaper... ~ Nauntilus

you should not install hardwood below grade. Too much moisture in basement areas. They will void your warranty

yes. Sometimes they will allow a walkout basement, but most will void and run at the first opportunity. (walkout means the basement is at ground level at the back or front)
