i redone a couple of laminate jobs (that weren't installed by me)that were both sqeaking laminate. we just took it up and glued the butt ends. never heard a sound after.the rep blamed it on osb subfloor not being level but when we looked it was o.k. it was a 10 mil product, not heavy enough to support somebody walking on the butt ends

what i would call middle of the road. had similiar problems with a 12 mil one time also and they are installed with space around the walls

How much of a gap between wall and laminate do you leave in that part of country?

Sometimes the laminate rubs on the transition strip to cause sqeaks

i generally leave about 3/16's to 1/4 inch. Common base is about 5/16's

have seen transitions that squeak againest doorjambs also. i just pass utility knife blade between the two
